New Orleans is famed for its haunted cemeteries, Creole cuisine, and hypnotic jazz music. But in October of 2022, in addition to beignets and Bourbon Street, New Orleans will be home to the world’s leading annual anesthesiology meeting, ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2022.

A truly unique American city, New Orleans is a perfect fit for this global event as the American Society of Anesthesiology has big shoes to fill—our own. ASA’s 2021 annual meeting was a resounding success. According to a recent ASA survey, nearly nine in ten in-person attendees said the value of attending ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2021 was worth the cost of registration and that the content was relevant or extremely relevant.

We’re now focused on the fall, looking forward to spending time with old friends and making new friends, at this year’s in-person meeting. Our 2022 meeting will be even more vibrant and informative, with more than 600 educational sessions, hands-on workshops, networking events to drive real connection, and presentations from the foremost thought leaders in the field.

Expectations for ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2022 are high. Attendees will be inspired by the latest information on everything happening in the world of medicine and anaesthesia, from scientific research to innovations and trends. They’ll soak up information at international panels hosted by the Korean Society of Anesthesiology, the European Society of Anaesthesiology, the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists, and the International Forum on Perioperative Safety and Quality. They’ll learn new skills and techniques to improve patient care, find innovative devices, and gather new information they can take back to their practices in countries across the globe.
