The ESAIC hosts the Euroanaesthesia and Focus Meeting congresses that serve as platforms for cutting-edge science and innovation in the field. Euroanaesthesia is one of the world’s largest and most influential scientific congresses for anaesthesia professionals. Held annually throughout Europe, our congress is a contemporary event geared towards education, knowledge exchange and innovation in anaesthesia, intensive care, pain and perioperative medicine, as well as a platform for immense international visibility for scientific research.

The ESAIC Clinical Trial Network (CTN), the Academic Contract Research Organisation (A-CRO), the Research Groups and Grants all contribute to the knowledge and clinical advances in the peri-operative setting.

The Specialist Societies contribute to high-quality educational opportunities for European anaesthesiologists and intensivists, fostering discussion and sharing, while the National Societies, through NASC, maintain standards, promote events and courses, and facilitate connections. All partnerships collectively drive dialogue, learning, and growth in the anaesthesiology and intensive care sector.

With over 40 years of publication history, the EJA (European Journal of Anaesthesiology) has established itself as a highly respected and influential journal in its field. It covers a wide range of topics related to anaesthesiology and intensive care medicine, including perioperative medicine, pain management, critical care, resuscitation, and patient safety.

EDAIC Part II 2020 – COVID-19 updates

Dear EDAIC Part II candidates,

Due to the latest developments in the COVID-19 crisis, it is with deep regret that we must inform you that the Examinations Committee was compelled to postpone or cancel the following EDAIC Part II examinations:

  1. EDAIC Part II 2020 examination postponed to later dates

The Examinations Committee is currently working on a new calendar to be able to offer an alternative to most candidates to take the Part II examination in 2020.

Should the COVID-19 crises be over by the summer, new dates ranging from the end of August to early December 2020 will be communicated at the soonest.

Please note that we may propose alternative dates in a different centre (for example candidates registered in Zurich may be proposed an alternative date in a different city/country).

While we are doing our best to give you the opportunity to take the exam in 2020, we also count on your understanding. Indeed, only one alternative date will be offered to you.

If you are unable or unwilling to attend EDAIC Part II on the new date, you will be able to cancel your registration and get a full refund of the registration fee minus handling charges of 50€. We will only take into consideration cancellations once the new dates have been communicated. All indirect costs incurred by the registration for EDAIC Part II such as transportation and accommodation are not covered by the ESAIC. If you are still interested to sit the examination in 2021, we will try to prioritise your registration in 2021.

  1. EDAIC Part II 2020 examination cancelled

Regarding EDAIC Part II 2020 São Paulo, further to the cancellation of the COPA 2020 Congress by the SAESP, the ESAIC is compelled to cancel the Part II 2020 examination in São Paulo. Candidates registered for EDAIC Part II 2020 São Paulo will receive a full refund of the registration fee minus handling charges of 50€. All indirect costs incurred by the registration for EDAIC Part II such as transportation and accommodation are not covered by the ESAIC. If you are still interested to sit the examination in 2021, we will try to prioritise your registration in 2021.

  1. All the other EDAIC Part II 2020 examinations are maintained for the time being

All the other EDAIC Part II 2020 examinations which are not mentioned above are maintained for time being. If you wish to cancel now, no refund will be applicable.

We would like to express our sympathy to all of you in these difficult moments and wish you lots of courage to face the pandemic in your respective hospitals where you are needed the most.

We also hope you and your family to stay safe and look forward to welcoming you for the EDAIC Part II in the near future when COVID-19 will hopefully be behind us.
