Partnerships

The ESAIC works in collaboration with industry, national societies, and specialist societies to promote advancements in anaesthesia and intensive care. The Industry Partnership offers visibility and engagement opportunities for industry participants with ESAIC members, facilitating understanding of specific needs in anaesthesiology and in intensive care. This partnership provides resources for education and avenues for collaborative projects enhancing science, education, and patient safety. The Specialist Societies contribute to high-quality educational opportunities for European anaesthesiologists and intensivists, fostering discussion and sharing, while the National Societies, through NASC, maintain standards, promote events and courses, and facilitate connections. All partnerships collectively drive dialogue, learning, and growth in the anaesthesiology and intensive care sector.

Newsletter 2023

Newsletter November 2023: What exactly does the eLearning Committee offer to benefit you?

The primary mission of the eLearning committee is to enhance the educational experience of the ESAIC community by delivering top-notch, unbiased, and current medical education resources. At the heart of our responsibilities lies the ESAIC Academy, an online hub hosting a wealth of educational content, primarily webinars and E-modules. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in the accreditation of the Academy by the UEMS (Union Europénne des Médecins Spécialistes), underscoring our dedication to maintaining the highest standards in the development and delivery of continuing medical education.

Our flagship offering within the ESAIC Academy is the series of Webinars, which we produce more than 10 annually. These Webinars span a wide spectrum of topics, emphasizing anaesthesia and intensive care medicine. These are the most formal activities, with 2-3 distinguished speakers and a host diving deep into a topic and engaging with the audience via polls and a Q&A session. Access to these Live Webinars is available to anyone with a free myESAIC profile. Webinars Replays and E-modules are accessible to ESAIC members as an exclusive benefit.

Being an ESAIC member allows the learners to decide their own study pace and learn wherever they are, without space and time constraints.

The ESAIC Academy has been recently enriched with another valuable resource titled “Guidelines O’Clock”. These concise yet highly informative resources facilitate the dissemination of critically important guidelines produced by ESAIC and/or in collaboration with other Societies. Topics covered include the management of severe peri-operative bleeding, the administration of neuromuscular blockade and preoperative fasting in paediatric patients—our on-demand activities, on the other hand, present practical information in the form of engaging infographics. A prime example of this is the “Brain monitoring” module, and personally, one of our favourites is the insightful “Normothermia” module.

A recent addition to our repertoire is the “TryMe Quizzes. ” These quizzes offer a stimulating challenge, comprising a range of fundamental knowledge questions. They are particularly beneficial for individuals preparing for both Part I and II of the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (EDAIC) examination.

Looking ahead to 2024, we are excited to announce several updates in the pipeline. These include an optimized search engine for easier content discovery, the introduction of more cohesive learning tracks, an expanded array of topics to cater to diverse interests, the release of new guidelines, and many more fun TryMe Quizzes to keep our community actively learning and participating.

Our committee, under the capable leadership of Andrea Kollmann Camaiora as Chair and featuring esteemed members like Joana Berger-Estilita, Mariann Kotormán, Antonia Kustura, Diogo Sobreira and Armen Varosyan, is proud and enthusiastic about enriching the ESAIC community’s educational offerings. We aim to strengthen, harmonize, and seamlessly integrate education into clinical practice, ensuring our members have the latest knowledge and skills in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine.
